The client needed to install a new 90-degree transfer conveyor to connect two production lines, but they were facing extreme floor space constraints.
Traditional radius (turning) belts require a straight “run-on” section before the curve and a straight “run-off” section after the turn to allow the belt modules to properly collapse, interlock, and track. The client physically did not have the room for these standard straight extensions. Forcing a standard radius conveyor into the tight footprint was impossible without completely redesigning and moving the surrounding production machinery, which would have cost a fortune.
Star Modular Belting analysed the layout and suggested a specialized engineering alternative: our HS2000A Fixed Radius Modular Belt.
Unlike standard side-flexing belts, the HS2000A is uniquely engineered for restricted spaces:
We supplied the belt to fit perfectly within the exact dimensions of their available floor space, resolving the layout bottleneck without disturbing any neighbouring machinery.
The HS2000A proved to be the perfect, space-saving solution for the job. The 90-degree conveyor was installed seamlessly into the tight gap, maintaining flawless product flow and tracking from day one.
The client was so impressed by the space savings, reliability, and elegant design of this belt that they have since ordered multiple additional units to optimize other tight, high-value areas across their factory floor.
